I agree. Don't throw your money away on these 'gimmicks'. They may provide a little bit of HP gain...but at what cost? If it was that 'simple'...wouldn't you think Ford, Chevy & Dodge would put their own 'super chips' on all their vehicles. There is no magic cure. Save your money, and buy a truck that can handle the load.
