VIN verification for out-of-state purchased vehicles is required here, too. The only legitimate way to do that here in Washington is to show up at the regularly scheduled State Patrol inspection station.

Sounds like in your case, the local police department is the place to go... might be worth a call down there to see if an Officer could be sent to your house to do it.
