Because Trixie can cross it in 10". - rexlionExplorerAll they have to do is turn it into their regular auto insurance policy provider. They'll have to pay the deductible, but that's all.
- monkey44Nomad IIWe were stopped on a road in Yellowstone watching a herd walk right past us in the opposite lane ... Just walking along, about fifty of them. Didn't bother us or the other cars in our lane. We all sat there and enjoyed it. Fifteen minutes or so - then the herd moved on, and we moved on. It was pretty awesome ...
Another time, a herd of about sixty or seventy walked right thru the campground at Teddy Roosevelt park ... just wandering around the tents and RV's, right thru the campsites. Was very cool to see ...
Looks to me like something spooked this Yellowstone herd, because in all my times at that park, I've never seen that kind of aggressive stampede. Most times, they just saunter around unless in Rut and Female near - then the bulls get a bit rowdy. - Finally_TimeExplorerI got ambushed on the road in Custer State Park by this gang.
They finally let me through. - ksg5000ExplorerAbout 60 years ago our camp counselors would take groups of kids on long hikes often close to herds of Buffalo ... they just cautioned us against noise/sudden movement. The Buffalo kept an eye on us but otherwise left us alone. That was b4 internet and tendency to sue everyone. I doubt they do that anymore.
- CroweExplorerI also got stuck in a bison herd on a motorcycle. For me, it happened in Custer SP in SD. I just sat there and took some great photos of Bison at about 1 foot away. One Bull stopped right next to me and looked at me. Talk about a pucker moment.
LOL! Been in herds in both Custer and Yellowstone. It is awesome and somewhat frightening at the same time. The first time we were in Custer we were photographing from the "safety" of our little Datsun pick-up. A baby decided to sow it's oats and started ramming our tire until mama called him away. Made for some great pics but it was a bit unsettling. - BarabooBobExplorer IIII also got stuck in a bison herd on a motorcycle. For me, it happened in Custer SP in SD. - Campfire_TimeExplorer""Oh man, there goes some money," someone in the car remarked, noting they had not gotten rental car insurance."
Hmm... Renting a car with most major credit cards automatically adds the insurance as a benefit. My car insurance also covers rentals. My agent told me a long time ago to never buy the additional insurance.
That said when we were there a herd casually walked past us on the road. Some were so close I could have reached out and touched them. It certainly freaked my daughter out! - 2chiefsRusExplorerWe got surrounded by bison in Yellowstone last month for about 30 minutes but we were on our Harley not in the RV. No where to hide either on the Harley or off. Just held our breath, stayed quiet and didn't make eye contact.
