You mentioned it came with a Satellite Dish or Dome antenna: You must have a matching Satellit Receiver for it to work.. Then it has to be "locked on" the proper satellite(s). NOTE that older antennas may not work with modern receivers.
If youa re talking about OTA TV antennas there are 3 common types. One is in the reply just above me, it may not have the 3 short elements (They can be added and should be) the poster did a fair job of describing it,
The next is the King Controls JACK , I do not recommend this.
The last is what I call a "Flying Saucer" it is round, about 3 or 4 inches high often mounted on kind of a tri-pod.. It is JUNK pure and simple, no way to make it work well other than replace with the antenna in teh last post (The best RV antenna)
One upgrade to that antenna.. (the one above) is the SENSAR PRO
