Digital converters run 50-100. New digital TV's. well the one I used in the front of MY intruder was 90 bucks at a Pawn shop plus 10 bucks on E-bay for the matching remote (A univesal remote is only a dollar at the dollar store (Tree I think) but it will not handle all fucntions).
How I choose my Replacement.. The Tape Measure method
I removed 4 screws and removed the facia trim from teh TV, this allowed me to measure the width of the opening.. I got a TV at teh pawn shop that was EXACTLY the same length
I then did a bit of cuttong on the floor of the head-banger box and raised said floor up and re-attached it, likewise I cut the trim down so it fit.. Looks like it was the original install, but its shorter, do nto bang head any more and it's DIGITAL. I have about 102.00 into that upgrade.
Rear TV was purchasewd new off the scratch and ding table but the install was considerably different for differnet reasons.
Long term plan is to "Finish" the space behind the new flat screen and use it for video and audio storage.
