- DelCamperExplorerThe price of crude oil is closely related to demand. The 20-30 or so cents per gallon cost of refining is pretty much a US thing.
- FezziwigExplorerGas prices are being set in foreign countries like China and India because it's an International Free Market. The days of American dominance of gas prices is over (and it has been for a few years).
- LindsayRichardsExplorerI just put $198.00 in my coach. I was giving the generator it's monthly workout and it dropped out due to being right at 1/4 a tank. I was on a slight slant though. It was $3.56. Some stations are as high as $3.65 strangely enough.

The gasoline prices are in free fall. This morning prices range from $3.58 to a single station at $3.69.
Dropping like a rock here also, average 17 cents down in one week. Now just $4.44 :R :(- cekkkExplorerSRT, "Sure seems kinda strange that 4 years ago it took oil prices of $150 a barrel to be at $4.xx+ for gasoline. Now gasoline has been near $4.00 and oil was in the $9x.xx range. Even with Ben printing $$ like crazy dollar inflation didn't increase all that much."
I said that months ago in this thread. We're being robbed blind. My theory involves the influence of today's politics on the industry. Prediction: prices begin to fall THIS year if POTUS changes in a couple weeks, before any increased permitting, etc.
Interesting interview this a.m. on Fox with former Shell CEO John Hofmeister. (OH! I think I can hear the groaning already!)
Tomman: "I was told by a Costco manager (when I complained that their price was high and it was lower at another Costco location) that they base their prices on gas stations in a 5 mile radius of the store."
I was given similar info when I asked about their relatively high prices in Scottsdale last year. - tomman58Explorer

Costco was lowering gas to $3.37 while we were there sn hour ago. It's a real price to as they only take a charge and their Amex gives an extra 3% off the pump price so the real price doesn't go up like my not-so-friendly neoghborhood gas station but down making the price .... $3.27. I wish they sold diesel.
I also seen some sort of electric Audi today, don't know much about it though.
I was told by a fella at Costco that their price changes come out of California. 6 their time is 9 on the east coast. if prices are falling wait till after 6 am PT. if rising, fill up before then.

I have little need for gas lately but do watch the prices. I can say I've never met a disgruntal employee at any of their stores. - BumpyroadExplorer

Too bad the motor home is tucked away for the winter (6 months of winter, 6 months of road construction). Diesel came down a few pennies. The price of oil is $90.xx. Brent oil is $110.xx a barrel.

To my nose, something smells and it isn't that "fluid drive striped kitty" lying on the highway....:E - DelCamperExplorerWith less gasoline demand diesel is the driving force of pricing. They're not making any more diesel than there is demand for it and with it comes too much gasoline. Hence the price of gasoline drops.
