- DelCamperExplorerWhere is your source of 70% of propane from Natural Gas? Please link.
That is unknown to me. - RambleOnNWExplorer II

Oops NG not NH
30% of the propane used in the US comes from oil refineries and 70% comes from from the production of natural gas. There should be an abundant supply of propane. This link shows the national residential price at $2.41/gal. and wholesale at $0.92/gal. Extremely cheap in some places though. - RambleOnNWExplorer II

Best price for propane is usually from the local bulk supplier--but you have to find them first. The link doesn't help with that.vikrv wrote:
Just filled up the propane tank at $2.80/gal. Seems pretty high but don't know of any GasBuddy equivalent for propane. With natural gas so cheap I'd expect propane to be less. A gallon of propane has the energy equivalent of 0.91 natural gas therms, and a therm is running about $0.98 these days.
Thanks, that shows a few bulk suppliers and the remainder U-Hauls. But no prices and none of the gas station propane suppliers. - DelCamperExplorerOops NG not NH
- DelCamperExplorerThe source of propane is refining crude oil. Natural gas comes out of the earth as natural gas. The price of propane is directly related to the price of crude oil. Natural gas is not. Comparing Natural Gas to Propane is like comparing firewood to propane on a BTU basis.
Propane has roughly 2500 BTUs per SCF while NH has 1000 BTUs. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,

- DelCamperExplorerRegardless if it does come from humans. The developing would was exempted from carbon emission restrictions. China surpassed the US in that regard in 2010.
All that is accomplished with the restrictions is to increase energy cost in the developed world so that more lower cost fuel is available for development in the developing third world. In the end net carbon increases. Am I a skeptic regarding intention. You bet.
