- SRTExplorerIt appears that gasoline prices are oozing down. Some stations are down to $3.75. $92.74 for a barrel of oil. That's down about $5. Speculators must have made some money on us, the users. Maybe if we made more noise it would make a difference (HA!).

Today, I saw $3.90 at a snowbird station, but the lowest I could find was $3.77. Can $4 be far behind?
I don't know what a snowbird station is but the locals here are paying 3.80+ and Diesel is at least 4.28.
I drove from Umatilla to Lake land the other day and most prices were within a few cents. Prices are worst in the farm towns and best where there is competition. - LindsayRichardsExplorerToday, I saw $3.90 at a snowbird station, but the lowest I could find was $3.77. Can $4 be far behind?
- John___AngelaExplorerPalm springs.
Regular 4.09
Diesel 4.34
Been that way for a few days. - SRTExplorerImagine, there appears to be a retreat in gasoline prices :C. The new price is $3.79, down 6¢ a gallon. Wonder if prices will drop some more since the price of oil is $93.63 (down $3-$4) this morning. You don't suppose there was speculation going on?? :@

Don't think the Monterrey shale deposits have ever been mentioned here. IF so, please indicate when.
Here is a link to your previous article on the Monterey formation: link.
Note that the Monterey formation is not one continuous slab of oil shale, unlike the Bakken formation. The Bakken formation primary oil reservoir is a layer of dolomite between two layers of oil shale. The layer is 40 ft to 100ft thick 10,000 ft. deep, which is why the oil producers are using so much horizontal drilling.
The Monterey formation has been heavily folded by tectonic plate action. Some oil companies think there is a lot of oil there; some don't, like Chevron, who has been pumping oil in the area for over a century: link.
More information on the formation: link. - LindsayRichardsExplorerCA has the largest deposits of shale oil (Monterrey) in the US, but oil companies have been blocked from getting it. It is thought to be about 4 times the size of the ND deposit. Fracking only works when it is tried. That huge area of ND has zero unemployment and McDonald's starts at $15/hr with a sign on bonus. That would help in CA. Lots of NG would also be found in the deposits.
- Greydog_1Explorer7.00 maybe by 4th July for Southern CA? 6.00 in heavily used markets other states . Wonder where they gather the hopeful for their pockets. And we keep paying it. Its really a supply problem, they will supply as long as we keep paying it.
