- SRTExplorerWell, our local gas prices continue to move downward. Prices this morning are $3.55 to $3.67 for gasoline. Diesel ranges from $3.92 to $4.11. Plus oil prices are $95.xx this morning. I suppose in a week or so the price of fuel will go back up about 10¢ a gallon..
- LindsayRichardsExplorerBeing mad at the oil companies for high prices is like being mad at the TV weatherman becasue it is raining. Oil companies make a lower profit than the Fortune 500 average. Be mad at the real problem, the politicians who keep the supply low to protect the lizards, the environmentalist, and the Fed which keeps cheapening our money. They want you to be mad at the oil companies and not the real problems. If you think they are making so much, they are publicly traded and you can bet your 401k on them. Your best weapon is to educate yourself and others.
- cekkkExplorerEnough with blaming oil companies for the situation. What are they, charities? Congress and the various administrations have spent decades allowing and funding DoE, EPA and others and their efforts to stop development of our enormous oil resources, discouraging new refineries, blocking nuclear generation, all but ending the coal industry and now working hard to find ways to stifle NG exploitation.
- RichExplorerOne of the hardest things for me to swallow is that no one is stepping up for the average person (much less the rvers) who have to spend so much money on gas for their vehicles just to get to work....Yeah, right....I can see where the politicos are consumed with helping this economy recover.....while the oil interests continue to make their billions in profits....Shame on this congress for their inaction concerning these obscene fuel prices.....

How true! We're ready to head home to Colorado, but last I checked it was 6 degrees up there. So we'll just hang here in the Valley until things turn more temperate.
Bought gas in Globe, Az, for 3.73 today. - tomman58ExplorerDecided to visit the Biltmore to pick up some wine and not travel for 30 hours. You have to be on a mission to travel for the next several hours if you aren't heading south or east the cost of fuel just went up.
With winds from 20 to 35 it costs me at least 2 to 3 miles per gallon to buck them. Not worth the white knuckles if it gusting or if they are not quartering the rig.

Filled up the coach (66.7 gallons) at $3.57. When we go further West on the panhandle out of the touristy areas, I saw $3.51. I only have a 70 gallon tank, so I wasn't going to push it too far. Temps getting warm. Up into the 80's today.
Coming down to Orlando this weekend for spring break. Regular is $3.58 here in southern Kentucky today. I expect it's a bit higher down there, huh? I notice everytime I pass Gainesville on the interstate, gas prices jump about a quarter a gallon. Must be 'cause of all the students and their cars.
Orlando blew away yesterday! 70+ mph winds and hurricane conditions. We are heading by your ol'Kentucky home hoping for clear roads after this storm.
Fuel prices are cheaper in several states other than Fl. Plus Fl has few stations that a big rig can get in or out of. (been there done that) Roads with generally smaller lanes.
I generally don't go to stations that are right along freeways as they are higher but just go a block away for the best prices and also stay away from cities as they are to crowded. - LindsayRichardsExplorerIn Florida and many other states, I suspect each county can add onto the gasoline tax. The idea is to get more money from the tourists so we don't have to have a state income tax. It can vary quite a bit from county to county. From what I hear on the news, the Feds and also many states are looking to increase their gas taxes.
