We've run in to this a time or two. We have a 1998 Bounder. When we called to make reservations, we questioned the ten year rule. They accepted us. Basically, I think most parks with this rule will allow older rigs if they are maintained and look nice. They don't want run down, beat up rigs or converted school buses there.
There may be places that stick to the ten year rule regardless of what your rig looks like, but we've not run into any yet.
