As someone who drives a vintage camper I can understand why this sometimes is an issue. My camper is 37+ years old and back then they didn't have any idea about how we would think about grey water today, so I have no holding tanks except for fresh water. That said, I simply don't use the built-in sink without an external holding tank attached - problem solved!
So far we have never run into a problem with the age our our camper when checking in to any campground (our bus is in near-new condition). If anything, people usually exclaim about how cool it is to see such a camper still in use and in this condition.
I could understand it if someone didn't want us on a private campground due to the age of our vehicle - your property, your choice after all - but I would be seriously upset if I could not camp in a public campground when tent campers are dumping their waste water right on the ground and I'm using a holding tank.
