I find it amazing when people knock those that stay in their RVs..........but don't knock their neighbors for staying in the house and not mowing their lawns...........
Here's my slightly different perspective. I fulltime in a 1998 Newell, a very high end coach. Since we sold the house and are living (not camping or weekending or vacationing) we wanted to be comfortable wherever we are. Our coach looks like it's new and many people can't believe it's 15 years old. But we keep it up just like we kept up the house and lawn.
Campgrounds are just like your neighborhood. Location and neighbors are very important for us. We do a mix of public (state & federal) and private campgrounds. And like resorts if the amenities have what we want. We are definately not the "filet mignon and caviar" crowd. Although I do like a nice filet medium rare on the pit.
One thing that I don't like is when in some parks other campers assume we are snobs because of our coach. Or because we aren't outside all day. Quite often we're out sightseeing. Other times we just enjoy being inside. So please don't judge us because of what we live in. And I won't judge you for what you live in.
