RV Parks w/older RV restrictions

I've just purchased a 1990 Class A Bounder. When I tried to make reservations in a couple of parks (Las Vegas and Flagstaff) I was informed that my RV is too old. I'm sure the owners of the parks have their reasons, but am I going to have this problem across the country?

Is it better to go to national parks and campgrounds?

Sort of confused because I'm old and get confused easy.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • Which RV parks? When in Las Vegas, we always stsy at the Oasis. I don't think they
have restrictions. I suppose the high end RV Resorts would.
  • I've heard that some commercial parks have a 10 year rule. Although, I've never come across one. But, my preference lies in government parks that offer a natural ambiance and larger sites. On the rare occasions where I've stayed in private parks, it's either been in a Passport America park for a night or two, or a monthly rate at a "mom and pop" park that meets my needs at the time.
  • :) :) we've run into that a lot. We tend to try county/state/fed campgrounds over privately owned CGs. One place we tried to get into had an age issue. We drove into it in our car.....what a crappy place!!! They had dirt roads with huge mudpuddles, the sat dishes for the other campers had the wiring crossing the road so they could get tv. The trees were so low our rig would've had damage. They had NO amenities....no laundry, no pool, etc. But they had an age limit of 10 yrs AND a $50. a night charge. Mind you, his was in podunk town, Oregon......Well, WE were too good for them!
  • Their property, their rules to make. They don't want my 2002 coach, I don't want to give them my money. That means we are both happy.
I have been lucky, I guess, I have never encountered such an RV park. But then, I only go to places that identify themselves as a "campground" or "RV park". If it says it is a "resort" or "gated community", I figure they aren't my kind of people. I try to stay with the sirloin steak, baked potato, and Budweiser crowd, and avoid the Filet Mignon, caviar, and champagne bunch.
  • they do this so they have control of hippie, beat to death rv,s and just plain road trash. next time your asked tel them your rv is a classic in mint condition. I don,t blame the CG they have to be in control of there camp.
