No Rock, it doesn't have to happen. The manufactures don't need to be members of a local (US-only) tr4ade group to sell here. Look at cars, televisions and appliances.
Now that in this country, profit is a dirty word, productivity is not something to be encouraged and entrepreneurs are displayed as enemies of the people, you can be pretty sure that this country is not going to produce anything that is new, great value and good quality any time soon. If you want a good one of anything, it isn't going to be locally produced and affordably.
