Japanese products used to get the same bad rap, and a lot of their stuff was junk. But those folks got smart. One of the largest Toyota plants is located in Northern Kentucky. State of the art, highly computerized and built by local employees using USA-made parts. Several of the parts makers have also built manufacturing facilities in the same area. And they're all a couple of miles from Greater Cincinnati airport, which now flies more freight than people. Good wages, working conditions and bennies keep the employees happy and non-union. The only thing they export is the money, back to Japan. US import duties on completed cars are high. I'd expect China to do the same thing with their RVs.
