I believe this is the firm I have seen articles on in the "trade journals", if so, it is the same firm that has been doing this for years in the auto industry.

Which means they have "paid" enough out not to get sued, but have made enough to not go under.

Like any insurance it's a bet, they are betting you will pay more then you get, you are betting the other end.

From the articles I've read (including a letter from the company owner) it's probably the same firm

After googling it, it seems the rv dealer has to purchase the warranty per unit.... Now if they buy it, you can bet it will be added into the price of the rv itself somehow. That doesn't seem free to me

Can't help - but when it comes to cars/trucks/RVs - *nothing* is really "free".

*If* another dealer doesn't offer the warranty - but has a significantly better price, that dealer would get my business.

Many extended warranty *companies* go belly-up.

Read the coverage. Check the reviews. There is no free lunch, it is in the price you are paying...

I think this is similar to what some car dealers are now doing like offering free oil changes and other service for life.

The catch is from what I have seen is you must have all regular scheduled maintence items performed at their facility at their prices.

It seems to be a way for them to guarantee revenue in the future at least on scheduled maintence items. Which can be very high at their cost.

I guess if you think about it, if you are paying them for all scheduled maintence, why wouldn't they warrantee it?

That was also my thought, but the maintenance that they require is not something that 1) I should be doing at least yearly anyway and 2) that I would take my coach to the dealer to have done.

I'm just curious to see if anyone has yet to have experience in trying to get these people to part with some cash. Since I wouldn't be paying for it, per se., it's not as if there'd be any huge loss. It does seem as if a number of private dealerships have jumped on the bandwagon.
