- ghaindleExplorerBayou Signet is in Westwego, LA. Just in case you need to google it. Not Oswego.
- TrlrboyExplorerHere is another vote for Bayou Segnette SP. Take a look at this album of pictures I took there and it will give you a good view of what the campsites are like.
Bayou Signette pics - loggenrockExplorerTake a look at Jude Travel Park. We were there a couple years ago - owners were great - left the rig there, shuttle into the city and back. Still only $30/night. Would use that park again! ST
- Bob___AnnExplorerWe like Poncatrain Landing. It is safe and a nice campground. Just a short shuttle trip or drive to the French Quarter.

We stayed at Bayou Signette State Park located in Oswego. It is an urban state park but we felt perfectly safe. It was a 15 minute drive to the Algiers Ferry and a 5 minute ferry ride to the French Quarter. Parking fee at the ferry but the ferry was free, The state park has no sewer hook ups, just water and electric and is big rig friendly. The state park was redone after Katrina. The price is good too.
Our choice as well. Very nice CG. - derh20Explorerthank you all for your comments. we now have a couple options.
- Empty_Nest__SooExplorerI stayed at Ponchartrain Landing one night while passing through a year ago. I have a daughter and son-in-law who live in New Orleans and I wanted to visit while passing through the area.
I had no problems and no complaints about the campground, except that my Tomtom had some problems finding it.
Wayne - sdianel_-acct_cExplorerBayou Segnette is where we stayed. We have also stayed at the KOA in Kenner but we didn't like it as much. It was "ok" We have also stayed at Ponchartrain Landing and didn't like the traffic and directions getting into and out of that campground. If you go to Bayou Segnette, from I-10 east, take I-310 south. Turn east (left) on US90 about 13 miles. When you leave the park, go west back to
I-310 north back to I-10. A bit more miles but easier with an RV. - brireneExplorerWe stayed at Ponchartrain Landing and, while I agree the gravel roads can get dusty, I didn't feel it was poorly maintained. Gravel does that. They have a shuttle running to and from FQ several times per day. We rode it once, then drove the truck in my sig the other times, mostly because the shuttle came back too early. Never felt unsafe either walking or driving. FQ rv resort is within walking distance, but most comments I've seen recommend against it, primarily later in the day. All that said, we'll probably stay at Bayou Segnette next time.
