As another poster said at Kroger (Frys, Fred Myers, etc) we get the 10 cents per $100 purchase discount and then get 5% cash back off of the statement for 35 gallons. We then get 3 cents off the price for any additional fuel plus the 5% cash back.
It should be obvious that both the Safeway and Kroger discounts are somewhat of a scam - Most people can only pump about 15 gallons in their car and they lose the discount for the additional fuel for the month. Larger fill trucks and MHs have the advantage.
