self contained RVs???

what is the definition of a self contained RV? I always thought it was your basic/standard RV withholding tanks, etc. On board water tanks, propane appliances, etc. I have seen ads by dealers that say "N" after the item "self contained".
other than park models, pop ups, and FEMA units, aren't most all RVs self contained?

  • Many B's, TC's, and smaller TT's do not have complete bath and/or kitchen facilities.
  • My 5er is self-contained......without a generator.
  • I would guess it means you can go away from civilization and still have whatever you need. A generator, or some other source of power, like a large solar array, would be necessary.

As midnightsadie inferred, I wouldn't take the dealer's word for it.

x2. If you have holding tanks and a generator, you're good to go, anywhere.
I would like to hear the dealers definition of self contained.
