Septic tie in

I'm with Ivylog in that I would make the slope a bit steeper than the standard 1/4 inch per foot. I figure I've got 36 gallons of mostly water and a few solids hitting that line out of a 3 inch pipe. Nothing is going to get stuck or left behind.

And if anything does wind up getting left behind it's not going to make it through the 36 gallons of gray water that's coming down behind it.

I added a dump 2 yrs ago. I had to go 50' and it was worth it. No more waiting in any lines or standing in a mess that some pig left. Craig

I have plans to do the same, I am soon building a large gazebo with outdoor kitchen and will even have a 2pc bath, as it is not far from my septic tank (20 feet) it will be easy to tie in, and the driveway runs past the back of that location, so I will extend the trunk out the back and put in a 3x3 concrete pad slopped to the drain and a hose bib on the back of the gazebo, no more waiting in a long line up at the dump station to empty out a half tank, just dump when I get home, or do a good tank cleaning more often with no need to rush so not to hold up the line. even back yard camping, or using it as a guest house won't be an issue with the washroom.

That's what I was thinking too. Since it's not under pressure, will not gluing them be ok? I don't want any accidents.

I do NOT recommend leaving the PVC unglued. An unglued slip joint WILL leak.

When I bought my current S&B house, I saw what I thought was evidence of a roof leak, but it had a new roof so I didn't worry. About 2 years later, I realized the "roof leak" was still growing.

I went up into the attic to investigate, and found that when the house was built, they forgot to glue one of the connections in the plumbing vent system. When it rained, rain fell into the open roof vent and ran down to this joint where it dripped out. I glued the connection, but since I didn't trust any of the other joints, I then covered the plumbing vents on the roof with a vent cover.

If you use PVC schedule 40, be aware that there are at least two kinds of 4" PVC schedule 40. When I built my house 25 years ago, you just went to the home store and got the PVC. Now someone has decided we needed a lighter product and is making a foam filled 4" PVC schedule 40. Unfortunately, it will turn to an oval if you stand on it where the original product would hold its shape. You may have to go to a plumbing supply to get the good stuff. I got the bad stuff at Lowes. I buried 100' of the 4" schedule 40 foam filled PVC under a heavy traffic load area before I figured this out.

I use a flojet pump. My clean out is a longer distance than yours.

The existing cleanout is above ground and I have been using it for about 2 years. The way it's laid out is perfect as it's a foot down grade from where I can run it to the corner of the house but at the soil surface. it's also about 3' away from a hose bib. I think I can simply screw a 90 into the existing cleanout, run a straight piece of 25' of 4" SCH40 pvc at 1" over 4' tied to the exterior wall of the house, another thereaded elbow up, and screw in the cap. It will be about 2-3" below my wet bay. So, if I do this right, should be able to pull up, unscrew the cap on the run, hookup, dump, and put the cap back on. Easy.

BTW, we are not tied to city, we have our own septic and drain field. We are on 6 acres on top of the mountain with a nearest neighbor about 1/4 mile away. I don't think I am going to even bother with a permit. Although the straight PVC will be connected, I plan on threading it at both ends so I can remove if I ever choose/need to.
