I have no issue in the amount of signs it takes to get people to "slow down"
I live in a small Ontario village and traffic at times don't drop at all from the 80km. Not living in the USA, we appreciate the signs. When you don't use the roads daily you don't know if you are in a school zone, where passing is safe etc. We don't know the roads.
As far as coffee cups saying that itbis hot. I think they started putting the words on because people were blaming the coffee shop for their hot coffee burning them as they it is spilled while driving, trying to use a phone and apply make up at the same time. Basically, they were being sued for serving hot coffee!
