We have an XM Onyx with the mounts and antennas, for our car, home and RV as well. Just move the receiver to where we want it.
If you threaten to cancel, (be ready for the high pressure) you can get a decent rate. I am currently around $100/year with taxes, etc.

You can listen to XM radio when your out in the middle of nowhere. The sound quality used to be "near CD Quality". However, since XM started compression the signals it doesn't sound like it used to.

Still-I pay $30.00 for a 6 month subscription. If I didn't call them at the end of 6 months it would be the regular $200.00ish price for 12 months.

I find it of value.

I got dumb lucky. Before Sirius and XM merged, I bought a lifetime subscription that was extremely cheap. When they merged, the lifetime subscription came along. I have holsters for the unit in the RV, toad and daily driver. I haven't listened to over the air radio in about 20 years. The only time I lose the signal is when I go through a tunnel.

If you have a Smartphone download Pandora. It"s free and you get a signal anywhere you get cell service. Choose your own brand of music and enjoy.

It can mean different things from it came with the module to you need the module. The best way to tell is press the satellite button and see what happens. If the display shows the serial number and a phone number to call then you have the module. If not you need it

We listen to music all the time. In the car, in the trailer, outside. We have SiriusXM that we renew 6 months at a time. Our credit card allows us to create a one-time use credit card number and that's what I give them when I renew.

You can always try Pandora too.

Frank.....your personal listening habits are exactly that....your habits. You see people wearing headphones/earbuds 24/7, listening to music, to the other end of the spectrum, where someone like you is not interested in listening to music that often. It's not a big deal either way. For me, I like hearing music when I'm working in garage, in the yard, or on the motor home. It makes the work more enjoyable.

When we travel in the motor home, both my wife and I like to listen to 70's rock and roll and country music. XM radio gives us that ability without hunting for channels every 60 miles. I love my wife, but during a 6-8 hour drive we just don't have that much to talk about. We enjoy the drive, look at the scenery and listen to music in the background.

I can't understand the idea of paying a monthly fee to listen to the radio. In the 12 years we've had our current car, I doubt it's been turned on for more that a few hours altogether, and that's primarily for traffic reports. I don't think we used the one in the RV more than 3 or 4 times in 4 years.

What really pissed me off was when I got a charge on my visa for $640. for XM renewal that I didn't order, just because they had my credit card # they went ahead,, phoned and cancelled every thing, next bill $35 for cancellation, when all said and done got our money back but it took quite a fight with them and being XM is US even a bigger fight so they can just stuff it the next time I ever need music or etc.
