If tourists are truly "vital" is a argument no one can win. Certainly, no one wants to find out. I will yield the point to 2012 Coleman.
My point is the rude and arrogant tourists that sometimes arrive. Thankfully they are a small percentage. I used to tell my employees 2% were impossible to deal with. 98% are great people.
This is for the 2%: If you come to my town, act like a guest and you will receive the best hospitality I can offer.
Don't stand in my town and tell me how much better, bigger, cleaner, and cheaper it is "up north." There is no way to faster to alienate a Florida resident than that.

My personal 2C's when it comes to snowbirds.
If I say good morning with a smile I would think an equal acknowledgement back would be appropriate. Just because I spoke it in English (while in the US where English is the only acknowledge language) is not justification to be a .....
Maybe some snowbirds should just wear a 1%'er patch so then the rest of us know not to bother with them.
