I sold an RV on eBay to a guy in Florida. He has already contacted me & paid the $100 deposit via Paypal. He says he's going to get a transport company to pick it up but we haven't worked out the when yet. He owes several K. How would be the best/ most trustworthy way to get the money? I don't want to get the rest thru Paypal because of the fees.I don't THINK he's a Nigerian scammer since he mentioned NOTHING about sending me EXTRA money. ;)

The only way to be 100% sure is CASH, pure and simple. Maybe a wire transfer from his bank to yours, dunno for sure about that. He can bring you a cashier's check but it may be no good, which you will find out too late. Personal check, ditto. Money order, ditto.I do know, I would do nothing until I had the cash in my hand, not a check, not a cashier's check. Cash.

I would not release the RV until I had cash in hand.No IOU, no check,Just a nice bundle of good ol green backs!

I'm in Texas; he's in FL. With a transport company I didn't think he would be coming. Just sending someone to pick it up. Very few options. It depends on how much we're talking about here. If he scams Paypal, you could be out also when they want their money back. Cash, cash, cash.If he trusts the transport company with his property, then have them bring you your cash.

Sorry. I didn't know EVERYONE was in suspense and cared so much. Life got in the way-- I haven't been on in several days to read because my 83-year-old mother was taken ill & I had to help my brother care for her.

I thought the last post I made was pretty clear, that, barring any catastrophes not of our making, the deal was done.

So.... The deal is done. I got the money wired by the buyers credit union, I FED-xed them the title. The TRANSPORT COMPANY (yes, that's what it IS!) came & picked up the RV. I assume it made it to FL ok-- the buyer said it had arrived & that's the last contact I had with him.

He wasn't a scammer, Nigerian, or Serial Killer. I'm sure some of you are disappointed it didn't continue to be a "drama".
