X2. If they couldn't afford a hotel, they can't afford to replace the mattresses and have the RV cleaned.
I doubt they will ask to use the camper again.
The ozone machine suggested by newman fulltimer is a very good idea. It helped me when I had a roof leak.
X3, I would definitely get a new mattress and call it a day.
