- GoPackGoExplorerI had the same thing happen to me. The wire had come loose at the end. Follow it and make sure both ends are connected.
- Dave_H_MExplorer IId, I been there.
When I raised the stove top I found that the wire had been srapped around something and was shorted out. Straightened things out and fixed the chafed spot and all is well.
Get in there and take a look first. Might be a very easy fix. - rekoj71Explorer

might have a bare spot in the ignitor wire causing it to ground out
I've had this problem 3 times now. I could take the lid off and when dark I could see the spark actually jump out of the wire where it was resting on the bottom panel before it got to the spark plug thingy. All I needed to do was wrap the wire in electrical tape (duct or gorilla worked too) and that was enough extra insulation to force the spark all the way to the plug. - AnonymousI found it easier to just use a BBQ lighter.
- tatestExplorer IIInteresting. On my Magic Chef there is one sparker for all three burners, so if only one refused to light, I'd be lookng for a problem (out of position or blocked) with that burner's pilot tube. Slovenian gas range I had in my apartment in China worked the same way, so I knew what to look for in the RV.
- dcasonExplorer IIWowzer. Thanks will pass that on to Mr. Fix it. Impressive and I KNOW it might weigh big for the crawl around on floor to light oven burner part...

- GjacExplorer IIIYou don't say what make stove you have, but on my Attwood stove in order for the sparker to work it needs a good ground to the sht metal attachment. Whenever the spark gets weak or no longer works I remove the screws to the spark assy and clean underneath to restore the ground path.
- dcasonExplorer III am a frugal girl and love your FREE solution. I don't use three burners at a go anyway.
Thank you!
