I've been at campgrounds where the "office" is only opened for part of the day, like 8 am to 5 pm. After that no one is around to check campers in. I know some folks arrive late and pay in the morn...

Have a couple times showed up at 8-9pm the office closed , bathrooms/showers locked ,laundry room locked, nowhere at office stating where camp host is located nor a # to reach anyone. Other than the typical 911 encase of emergency...
But they sure had that self register sign with envelopes to pay FULL PRICE !
So I put half the price in cash in the envelope with contact info letting them know what time we arrived with not being able to use any amenities.
Never heard from any of them..
So on the flip side of thievery , how about the owner/employee who opened up the next day pocketed the cash and tore the envelope up. Its possible ;)
