Strange reading on Powerline EMS system

I have a Powerline EMS system that has a load meter on the face of it giving me info on AMPs. I have been using 30 AMP service at different state park this week with no issues at all. My motor home is 50 AMP, Thanks to a prior post that was answered here..I know now to turn off items to keep under the 30 amp limit. We just got into a new state park in Kentucky, 30 amp service. All seemed well when I noticed all of a sudden I was getting a reading of 36 AMPS and back to 3 or 4 , then a jump to 36 again and so on. Nothing other than LED lights on and the refrig. this entire week it would have shown 5 amps or so. Any thoughts here?? I have unplugged, until I know what it is. Thank you!

I'd suggest you first read through the Powerline EMS Owner's Manual and if you still have questions call Intellitec.

  • that would depend on where the EMs is wired into the RV systems
  • I will check the batteries first thing in AM, I did just recently check them and top them off, I will check with a meter, but I will keep unplugged for now. If its the batteries would charging with Generator show same results?
  • start by checking your batteries, Fluid level
then put a meter on the batteries and see if it is jumping around, at the same time as the EMS

if its not the converter and/or batteries
then its the site connection, tell the park personnel and ask them for another site
