I'm not disagreeing with you, but I honestly haven't heard of anyone dieing from using a propane heater in an RV. I've certainly heard of people dying from running generators or charcoal grills in their houses during power outages, but I haven't heard of anyone dying from running a propane catalytic heater. Has there actually been any posting about deaths from them on RV.NET?

I have, Bill. There was a case just last week that made the newspapers here in Virginia. The couple was hospitalized, the man died, the woman is in bad shape.
The risk isn't worth it. Trust us on this one, please.
To the OP, your rig's furnace and battery will easily keep you warm safely for one night. If it quits on you, that is God's way of telling you that your battery was about to die anyway. Lots of very, very lucky people will tell you that they use small propane heaters in their RVs and even inside their sticks 'n' bricks all the time. The fact remains that they are very, very lucky. And all it takes is one night of not-so-lucky to ruin your whole day.
