myredracer thanks for the info. when we did go on our last trip 350+ miles, I evenly distributed weight inside trailer and trailer was level when I hooked up. had reese wdh and ez sway bar. psi in tires were at there max. 50 psi cold. and they are range c. thanks!
Great! What about your truck tires? If I don't run ours at the 80 psi max. when towing, it can feel a bit squirrely.
Have you considered the front end of your truck? Are the ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings and steering box all okay? Easy to check for play with someone rocking the steering wheel while you look underneath. Sometimes the front ends on trucks don't last that well. I rebuilt the entire front end on ours last year when the truck was only 4 years old.
Could you upgrade your Reese to the dual cam by replacing the spring bars and installing the cam arms. That reminds me, what is your spring bar rating compared to the actual tongue weight? Being under-rated can cause problems because not enough weight will be restored back onto the steer axle. BTDT last year and had to go from 800 to 1200 lb trunnion bars.
Perhaps it's the cumulative effect of a number of things?
