I like Trump. But, Trump hasn't closed anything. All these shut downs are by the individual state governors. CA, NY, MI, VA, MD, NJ, IL, WI, PA, WA, OR are all Democrat governors. They don't care what Trump wants.

Totally agree. And I do not think people are going to listen for much longer to these Democrats. We need to open business and make money.

And I do not want another $2 trillion plus in printed up money full of Pork Bills that have nothing to do with this virus. They had better start to Line Item Veto the Budgets, all of them. Inflation will catch up with this never ending spending. Open up our economy.

Open up business on May 1st. They can't arrest us all.

And I think it should open to locals in the area only for the first 2 weeks, then do an assessment. Many rural areas have little to no cases, let them open up.

Keep the travel ban on, no travel outside your city or area. No travel out of high hit areas NY, CA, OR, WA, FL, LA, etc. until a 2 week assessment is done.

The Mayors know their towns and cities, they should be reaching out to the Governor of their State and get a plan in effect NOW to open their districts with their rules and guidelines to do so.

Let the Mayors take charge of their community.

FYI Home Depot has curbside delivery. I used it yesterday. Ordered online, they texted me when my order was ready. Drove over, parked in the curbside delivery section and within 10 minutes I was loading my order in my truck. While I waited for my order to come out I sat in my truck and looked at the 20 min line to get in line of people waiting to go in.
Except for handing the copied order (Could've just read the info to her) to the lady that called inside that I had arrived, I had almost zero contact with people.
I like the new normal.

this is nature and no amount of closing businesses is going to stop it. The virus will spread until “it”decides to stop spreading! If humans think they can control nature they are wrong and there is plenty of history that proves that! Yes we can slow it, but that all we are doing is prolonging the inevitable. It will run its course and will stop and we will have a vaccine by this time next year. And even then with a. Vaccine people will still die from it!

As long as all this happens far, far away, on TV . . . it's easy to take your position that we should just open things up and let it "run its course".

If the raw reality of "People get sick and sometimes people die" came walking in the front door of your home, would you still feel the same?

If you were unemployed, married, had a five year old and a 3 year old, and a mortgage, and your only source of income was $900 per week, would you still feel the same?
There are a lot of tough questions out there.

In my area mortgages are on hold, evictions are on hold.
Drastic measures that we have never seen before. During these times we need to ensure there is food for everyone to eat. All other expenses are shut down with the economy.

On Hold = at the end of the 3 months all 4 payments are due and if not paid eviction proceedings may begin.

This " everything is shut down " can't possibly be accurate, at least not to the extent being claimed.

I have not 1 family member nor friend that is currently out of work.....possibly due to geographic location, fewer cases. Idk

Yes, I understand the small business OWNERS can't collect unemployment. The Government is working on that.

As for the RV Industry, the current inventory is in place and not dwindling. And nobody is currently making new units. So when parts of the country start opening up the inventory will start reducing. If the RV manufacturers are smart they will hold off on opening up their factories until the old inventory starts to drop. Then they will have a surge of orders to get them through the winter.

I am ahead in savings since this all happened. Retirement is the same, Social security is the same, I am spending WAYYYYY less money without going anywhere except for food and Prescriptions they still cost the same.

There are no options to slow the deaths and impact on healthcare except the shutdowns and social distancing. The medical experts will be clear about that. The politicians are not going to risk having the epidemic flare up with tens of thousands of deaths.

No way are things opening up in 18 days. Most states don't peak for another week or two. The peak is not the end of the ride, it's the top. We still have to come down. Most graphs show the downside at the same rate as the upside.
Trump may say open it up on May 1st but that doesn't mean diddle. It's up to your own states Gov to decide.
As far as camping goes, with safe measures still needed to be taken, I only see certain types of CG's in my state opening up. Many of our State parks are near populated areas. State parks's full of people going into town to buy supplies or whatever puts an extra burden on the locals.
I really don't see life getting back to normal til next year.
There's not going to be sporting events, packed restaurants, or other big social activities happening until the public feels safe.
All that could change with massive testing, but so far that balls been dropped.

Thing is I've never read one article that says we can open it up and the virus disappears and all is good.
