Mine has a little popup indicator that tells you it's full. If your tank capacity is greater that your tot, you either take it multiple times at once or more frequently. On occasion, I'll hook it up and dump the gray water at night so we can take showers/wash dishes, then take it to the dump in the morning.

I use a 7 gallon repurposed (and clearly marked!) water jug for grey water dumping. I just install a cap on the coach tank discharge pipe that has a standard garden hose fitting on it intended for back flushing. With a 3 foot section of garden hose attached, it's easy to fill the jug and see when to close the dump valve when the jug is about full. The jug we use sits a little higher than the dump outlet, so there's always a small amount of water still in the hose. I keep a plastic coffee "can" in the wet bin to catch that and add it to the water jug. After a couple of times dumping, I knew just when to close the valve to maximize the quantity in the jug without spilling. The jug has a spigot in the cap, so it's just a matter of laying it down at the dump station and opening the valve and vent to drain it.

X2, I'm a toter and will be for a long time. We don't break camp, we take about 15-20 minutes to dump the grey tank and all is well. Wouldn't leave home without it. BTW, we don't normally use it for the black tank, but had to once on an extended stay at Pismo beach a few years ago, and all was well. Just rinsed it out and went on my way. Great little device IMO. If you like to break camp and tow to the dump station, I say "keep doing that".

Really depends on the scenario. If there is NO evidence of a drip/leak, it never happened. However if the site is wet with grey water. We have a problem.

There's a difference between a slow gray water trickle and just opening up the valve to let it pour out.

For quite a while, I've had a hairline crack about 6" from the valve on one of my gray water pipes. Drip drip drip...never really been an issue. I wrapped some sealing tape around it a few months back, which all but solved the problem. One day, when I get time, I'll cut it out and fix it...maybe.

I can agree that it is done discretely which is the way it should be.
Again I'm not naive enough to say it never happens. Nevertheless I still don't think grey water dumping is a big issue in the places where I camp.

I would venture to say on the east coast it is not done very regularly, however out west where there is more remote camping it happens.
I'm not naive enough to believe it never happens, however it would not be tolerated at the places where I camp simply because for the most part they are not very remote.

I use a Barker frequently when I'm not at full hooks ups. While they can be messy when not handled properly I've got mine down to a science where there is zero mess.
