Torklift Stableload Quick disconnect?

I've read through all the previous posts regarding Stableloads, and cannot find what I am looking for.

I would like to hear from folks who tow a travel trailer and have installed them on their truck. I'm hoping to hear from people that have 1/2 ton trucks, but most interested in hearing how they affected your towing experience.

Most of what I find on line is from Truck Campers and I'm towing a travel trailer.

Thanks everyone!

  • I have them on my 2500 Ram. I tow 36 1/2' with @ 1200# tongue weight. They are very easy to deal with if you engage/disengage them when the trailer is suspended by the trailer. Those together with a set of Bilsteins took ALOT of the porpoise out of the ride. My advice, unless you have a lift of your own, is to take it to a shop to have the holes in the spring drilled. Maybe you're lucky and have predrilled holes. Very much worth in investment.
  • not sure on 1500's but I had them on my 04.5 2500HD and have them on my 2015 2500 Denali. IMHO they are worthwhile. they do what they claim, they are easy to install, and at least on the silverado/sierra very easy to connect/disconnect.
  • I tow 8000 lbs while carrying 4000 lbs. The lower StableLoads will firm up your suspension and reduce sway and front to rear porpoising. If you are trying to address rear sag, these will give you about 2" of lift when your truck is loaded verses without them.

I experimented with blocks of pressure treated lumber prior to buying my StableLoads. I liked how they felt when loaded but saw the need for the quick disconnect because ride quality suffers when empty while having the lower spring engaged. If the block experiment does not work for your application, you will be out very little time and money. If it works well, these StabkeLoads will be worth the cost.
