You can tow with a dolly if you remove the drive shaft to th rear wheels, I’d only do it in an emergency. Setting up for flat tow can be $$$, but your can find deals on craigslist
I came late to the party, but that is what I was going to say. Yes, that can be done.
However, towing 4 down can be done much cheaper, as well. I towed Jeeps with an inexpensive fixed arm, adjustable width, 5000 lb. capacity Reese towbar ($145 at Walmart last time I looked, several months ago) with the adapters bolted to the stock bumper, using 1/4X2X6 inch steel backing plates. IIRC, I had to trim the ends of the frame horns slightly to get clearance for the backing plates. It should be mentioned that these Jeeps were 2006 and older. The newer (2007 and up) may not have a decent bumper. An aftermarket bumper may be required.
I have always installed a four-pin trailer wiring connector in the wire harness to the tail lights. Then all I have to do is separate the 4-pin plug, connect the towing wiring to the tail lights, and I am ready to go. It is, of course, imperative to remember to re-connect the vehicle wiring so the rear lights work while driving! The materials to do this cost less than $20, IIRC.
So, for considerably less than $200 and a few hours of work (if you are slow like I am these days), the Jeep can be set up, ready to tow.
