Wow, I'm glad to see there are others like me. One reason to clean, inspect and repack is that you can't be sure what type of grease is in there. While the manufacture put in the correct type, but in a unknown quantity, the dealer may have squirted some of his favorite in there. It is important to know that incompatible grease can cause problems.
If the trailer has brakes, I would never use the grease fitting.
