I do carry a spare set of bearings and some grease.
You undoubtedly have cheap Chinese bearings, and I have had a number of them start to fail within 8,000 miles. The failures were caused by defective grinding, out of tolerance angles and cheap steel. I installed made in USA Timken bearings from Summit Racing.
And yes, I traveled thru Death Valley while those junk bearings were in there. They could have brought me to a halt at any time. Never Again.
