What's a monthly statement? Is that one of those black and white paper things my parents used to get in the mail?
Whenever I use my credit card, I get an alert immediately on my cell phone. I can check immediately to see that the amount matches the receipt. Of course it doesn't work on gas charges because they pre-authorize $100 or $125 and then capture the exact amount after they know what you've pumped.
For gas charges, I check online after it's been posted.
