- Steve_83406ExplorerHey, folks, I wasn't trying to create a controversy. If I had left my vehicle to tie up a gas pump when the entire place is full up with people waiting... well, my mama didn't raise me like that. If someone had moved my vehicle, I would have died from embarrassment, not threaten to beat people up. Now, did I actually have a gun behind my back? Of course not, it was a bluff and it worked. So, please accept my apology for causing folks to get upset. I thought some would get a chuckle out of my story, because, I'm sure, many folks secretly wish they could do the same sometimes.
Steve - VeebyesExplorer IICan't say there has ever been a problem at truck fuel islands.
Thoughtless car driver stories at fuel stations however, abound. They usually revolve around a car abandoned at the end or only gas/diesel pump when there are plenty of gas only pumps for them.
Fuelling often presents a unique problem for us. Most require a zip code for the credit card. A US postal code. Our credit cards are not linked to a US address therefore no zip to enter. This means a trip inside to the often very busy counter to prepay or get an authorisation. Time consuming. We do our best not to waste time. The DW trots off inside, radio in hand, so that there is no walking back & forth.
It is not perfect but the best we can do. - ken56Explorer

No, he implied that he would defend himself, I inferred that he was talking about shooting the guy because the guy was irate over the fact someone climbed in and moved his truck. :) If you're messing with a guy's truck seems like you should be willing take your beating like a man. :)
No, he inferred that he would defend himself from the bully idiot beating him.
No one should be threatening anyone with violence. No one should "take a beating like a man". A guy just died in Las Vegas from a fist blow to the head....so I can't blame anyone who says they will defend themselves from being beaten.
I would also not be moving someone else's vehicle but I would lay on my horn maybe or block a driveway while waiting....or just leave to go somewhere else. - Paul_ClancyExplorerI know many truck stops only accept a very few cards at the pump. If you don't have one you have to go in - give your card - return and pump then go in and settle. My wife goes in and gets the card swiped - shops while I pump diesel and pull ahead when done then she pays. Works for us. I have seen signs saying pull ahead when done fueling. Just common decency. Lost on some.
The other side is I was without the trailer at car pumps waiting for a diesel pump when I was confronted by an angry older fellow as to why I was waiting in that particular line (the only diesel pump was also gas island) When I said need diesel he walked away but still quite upset -hard for some to contain rage I guess. Thought he would keel over right there. - CharlesinGAExplorerWhats all of this going inside to pay? Every pump I've seen in quite a while has a credit card reader at the pump. I don't think I've paid inside in 15 years or so.

- fj12ryderExplorer IIIYeah, sounds hilarious. Especially the part where you threatened to shoot him because he didn't move his truck. Laff a minute.
