Thanks for the ideas - Where would the check valve be? I have the bypass valve figured out I tbink. I will try to find the I check valve
- Bad check valve, or is there a valve in the bypass system that is in the wrong position? It can get confusing?
Are you getting pressurized water coming out the pressure vent valve on the outside of the water heater? This would indicate that you are getting pressure into the tank, and that the "out" line is plugged or a valve is shut.
When testing, make sure the water heater isn't on, to avoid getting burned. - Might be the check valve on the hot side of the water heater.
- Bad check valve on hot water heater.
- Is the heater tank full? if it were full it should not affect the cold side.
