Weight dist hitch

I'd suggest going to the towing forum where there is some excellent info. on setting up a WDH. THs have their own challenges due to the large swing in TW that can happen from loaded to unloaded.

Note that receivers have a max. hitch load rating when spring bars are not hooked up (typically 500 lbs). Not a good idea to tow without the bars in place for that reason PLUS you need to get the correct amount of weight back onto the steer axle.

Actually i just bought this toy hauler about 10 days ago.

Its tongue doesn't have the hookup bracket. And there's no hookup bracket i could find around, the dealership didn't have one.

Thus i didn't have choice but to tow the trailer for 700 miles from Salt lake city to my home in Southern California without those round bars & the sway control.

The trailer weighed 6,003 lbs.

My truck is 2015 Ram 2500 CTD longbed tradesman.

It handled well no problem & towed like a king.

Eventually, i'll have to install anyway those hookup brackets soon.

if you go to etrailer.com or utube and look up the video about installing a WDH it will answer your question. fyi, my hitch ball is tilted back just a bit
