We're moving ... West of Florida - had enough!

Sounds like great fun to me. Bandon is a beautiful litte gem of a town. We have driven through Bullards Beach but have never camped there. We always use their dump station on the way back north from camping at one of our favorite places, Cape Blanco. From there we usually visit Bandon, as well as Port Orford and Gold Beach. We usually split our spring/summer camping between inland locations and the coast. We like both, though we try to avoid excess heat.

What is best about this thread is :
The Michigan resident believes that Michigan is best .
And the Oregon guy believes Oregon is best .
I have driven in 46 states and I have my faves and I have places I never ever want to return to .
There is no substitute for visiting a locale myself .
The places visited are rarely as good or as bad as I have been told .
We spent the middle of February camping at Bullard's Beach in Bandon .
It rained .
We put up our awning and our EZ-UP Quick-Shades right away .
We staked them down .
We had multiple morning and evening campfires thanks to the OSB ON TOP technique .
We met our friends there and played lots of cards .
We left in a rainstorm .
We had snow towing home over the mighty Cascade Mountain Range , but no snow at the Oregon Coast or in Bend .
Another great camping adventure in an Oregon State Park .

Just returned from a trip where we spent about 2 weeks in Florida. Nice place to visit but still in love with Colorado. Even though we just had a weekend of snow, ice, cold, 104 truck & car wreck on I-25. Back into the fifties and sixties this week. Spring is coming.

Good! I love in northwest Fl, three miles from Georgia border and would be thrilled to have you buy my home! It's for sale right now! The RV goes with me though. I'm originally from Buffalo so I know about snow, But truth be told, Florida shine is way boring, and if you live anywhere off the eastern seaborn consider yourself landlocked. Air conditioning becomes your best friend as humidity try's to suffocate you...

Lots of LIVE streaming B&W and in color cams all over West michigan that we look at every day on the puter down here in Florida where we are.

We're down in a "bowl" so even today's temps didn't go above freezing. We went from maybe 24" on the ground, to 20"?? A friend of mine from Martin (about 6 miles to the SW) who keeps track of snowfall, says they've received 130" so far....

I'm still giggling about the "visual" of Sault Ste Marie being a suburb of Chicago.... wave to them as they go by, OK?

If you and Ed aren't busy doing anything this weekend, the annual Shiver in the River (the Grand River) is going on this weekend on Sunday from 1-3 pm in Grand Haven at Chinook Pier. Where the charter fishing fleet of boats dock in spring, summer, and fall next to the Municipal Marina.

Just go on down with your bikini on and enjoy with all the others and listen to the loud crowds cheer you on or should I say "in"! Open water so there will be no bouncing on the ice but that doesn't matter because you'll learn instantly how to "walk on water"... Looking at the swirls around the bas of the tree behind the plow says the 3' of snow on the plow was wind drifted. The van top in the pic has about the same amount of snow on it and the vehicle in your last pic.

Didn't you lose a lot of your snow with the days of warm temps??? You are only about 50 miles or so east south east of our daughter's home and her snow on the level ground was less than 16-18" before the melt as she'd posted pics on another secured social media with her 10 yr old daughter standing in it last Sunday. The snow didn't even come up to her knees. Snowdrift depths certainly would be different though!

Look behind on the right side of her pic and notice the chainlink fence where the snow hasn't been touched and how high the top of the fence is from the snowlevel on the ground. The depth of the snow on top of the vehicle in the pic also gives some idea if the snow hadn't been kept cleaned off lately. Only Deb can tell you.

Travelnutz: that's a 7' tall chain link fence! The piles on the side of the 5er are just "snow" - here's a plow we had to dig out last week:



Granted - the 5' front sides are "snowbanks" - but the 3' that buried the plow is just "snow". I can't get my snowmobile out - the snow is too deep.
