I was raised in the 50's and 60's as well. Every morning we said the Pledge of Allegiance, The Lord's Prayer and then sang America the Beautiful.
Then.... we did Bible and Prayer on Sunday as well. And lots of people did it on Wednesday also. I can remember that there were no Little League or High School games scheduled on Wednesdays because everyone went to "Wednesday Night Bible Study" in our town - regardless of what religion you were or which church you attended.
:B
As we did in our schools. Until the God haters took control. We could even watch the story of Jesus birth at Christmas, and The Night before Christmas the next day. We were taught the difference between right and wrong. Not just feel good things.
And the stores on main street even closed on Wednesday afternoon.
