You've just provided your OWN example while attempting to belittle others. It's either "post reads" or "posts read". - fj12ryderExplorer IIIPeople certainly get their dander up where correct spelling is concerned. I don't recall seeing that the intelligence of anyone is impugned if their spelling is incorrect.
But I, for one, will give more credence to the correctly spelled and phrased post over one that contains misspelled words and misused phraseology if the content is the same. In fact I skipped post number 16 because it was too much trouble to be bothered with it.
Lack of education in this day and age is simply no excuse for ignorance any longer. Misspelling and improper word usage will usually show ignorance and carelessness, rather than stupidity. - Road_DogExplorerFrig instead of Fridge
- bigdoggerExplorer IITheir is moor to grammar then just spelling. I wood advice every one two seek advise if yew dew knot no what I am talking about. Knot a misspelled word in this post, but it is obviously knot correct.
Any contrary to some people's opinions, most people do judge the content of someone's message by how they present it. - Wagonqueen_TrucExplorer

Flame ON. - MotorProExplorerLast time I looked this was a forum for info on RV's. If people are so worried about spelling go on a spelling forum. Nothing is worse then tring to help people with problems and getting jumped on because of a misspelled or mistyped word.

It is correct. The OP means that warranty is very often misspelled. I usually see warrenty.. something like that.
Is warranty not a correct spelling?
It's not so much the spelling as it is the misuse of words. The absolute bar-none front runner is "it's", as in " My day has it's ups and downs." No, that would be its. Other common misuses are 'advise' for advice, and 'to' for too. It's not just this board, it's becoming Internet grammar, and it's pretty bad. I'm not sure if spell checkers handle word usage very well.
It's easy to see who has crafted a question well, and who hasn't. If you just don't care how your posts reads, then I don't care to answer. After all, somebody will always answer. The OP might enjoy the "Words that melt my brain" thread.
The post above reminds me of another one.. 'lose' (which he used correctly.) - JnJnKatiebugExplorer

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right! It doesn't take that much effort. A well written and correctly spelled comment is much easier to read and understand. Most browsers will do spell check for you but they have limitations. I realize some participants here say it is no big deal but putting some effort into writing correctly is important to me. If you cannot distinguish simple spelling mistakes and make corrections you must not really care much about what you are saying. Some will take issue with this point of view but like it or not being able to communicate well in written form has immense benefits in the real world. All of us will occasionally make an error we miss when writing and that is not the issue. Constantly abusing the language in written form will get you written off as uneducated, and not someone to take seriously. Just my opinion.
My dad was uneducated. He was also one of the most respected men in the county.
I don't lose respect for anyone here because of their misspelling but I do not have a lot of repect for those on here that bash other people and/or think their way is the only correct way to do anything. - TargaExplorerI'm not looking forward to reaching that point in my life where other's grammar/spelling is a concern of mine.
It was fun to see the OP get called out on his own rant....:B
