What to stock

I have a friend that has a small general store in a town near three or four RV parks and campgrounds, he was asking me what small RV/camping accessories and replacement parts to stock for people to buy.

What have you found that you needed while on the road.
thanks

Have your GROCERY STORE friend to visit a CAMP GROUND CAMP STORE to get an idea what is needed...

This google photo sort of really sums it up I think...

  • Butane lighters for propane stoves ( the long ones )
    Plastic picnic table covers
    Laundry soap
    Wet wipes
    Insect repellant
    Napkins
    Paper towels
    Fly swatters
  • Metric Conversion Tables
I got surprised at an underpass posted in Meters and at a deli counter buying lunchmeat posted in grams. Also a good idea to swap some $US for $CN. Once you leave the border areas, you'll find small businesses that don't know the conversions and don't accept MC/VISA/AMEX cards.
Also, Tim Horton's is the Canadian Starbucks, and they're everywhere.

Toilet paper: Scotts or Angle soft
    A few Dogbones (30-50 and 50-30 amp)
30 and 50 amp plugs (a couple of each)

Assorted 12 volt light bulbs and fuses.

Potable water hoses,, And Hose washers.
ONE or Two only RV-Water filters,, (The inline type) I like the larger diameter filters.

Though I do not normally use them "Black tank products" I suggest carrying only the waste digester types, NOTHING with Formaldehyde in it. (You do not wish to preserve the ...er.. stuff).

Picnic supplies (This is fairly common line of products in such a store)

On the RV specific stuff like Dog Bones, Hoses, filters and waste digester only carry a SMALL inventory at first. Plugs for example If he carries ONE 50 and one 30 amp.. Then when that one sells, odds are he will have time to re-stock before he sells another.

Things people forget or need to buy on the road.

    Camping stuff, firewood, games
  • 30 to 50 amp dog bones
    Sewer hose
    Potable-use hose
    Hose washers
    Coaxial cable with female ends
    Automotive fuses
    Fire starters
    Marshmallow sticks
    Sewer doughnuts
    Various insect repellents
    1lb propane bottles

There's so much more, but I have to go to work.
