Who really cares about what forum a thread is in?

I often see responses along the lines of "why did you post on this forum rather than that forum" or 'this belongs in "X" forum, or "you will get more responses posting in this forum instead" . Pers...

Within reason. A few grammatical errors and a misspelled word or two is to be expected. Butchering the English Language at a rate that would make a 2nd grade student blush says more about the poster than the words in their post.
