More air (from both vehicles) combines with less space will cause a greater low pressure on your left side than right side, hence the pull towards the semi.
Since when does MORE air forced into a SMALLER space equal a LOWER pressure ??
HINT: It doesn't.
Your vehicle is already creating a wake, probably more than the truck approaching from the rear.
The truck encounters your wake, which is added to his......at the BACK of your vehicle. This combined HIGHER force tends to push the back of your vehicle to the right; that tends to make the front track to the left.....toward the approaching truck.
Or it might be more proper to say that it FEELS like your vehicle is pulling to the left (the sucking originally referred to) but if you have enough experience and mental discipline you actually should be able to hold the wheels straight and have the vehicle "self correct".
The problem IS.....that your brain has a certain "muscle memory" for that feeling and it is almost impossible for most people to resist a steering correction. About the time you do that, the truck has reached the FRONT of your vehicle and the wake actually does exert pressure to the right.....while you are correcting to the right already.
The situation becomes even more complicated if you have a pivot point in the middle.
