Yeah it kinda is different. Every Workamper I've ever met has been a "mellow mushroom" type. I just couldn't imagine them causing a ruckus.
They just all seem so nice!
As a work camper I like to think so. Most of negative, un-helpful posts I have seen here seems to come from people that just want to spout off their venom.
I doubt many of them are actually work campers. Although they are welcome to start a separate thread about the specific opening, they never do. - GMandJMExplorerYeah. Mellow mushroom types....like DogFolks. Perfect example! :)
- The_TexanExplorerthe malcontents are the ones starting post like this without ever looking to see why it is being done. The explanation has been posted MULTIPLE times, but those who do not like the reasoning are quick to post their displeasure, time and time again.

For further education listen closely to Charlie Daniels Band song "Simple Man." - GMandJMExplorerMellow Mushroom = Fungi (Fun Guy).
Not a day goes by that I don't get an RV.net earworm! - Fleetwood_CouplExplorerOk now I feel about this big...apparently it was my connection and my lack of patients causing the problem. I can now see the posts when it initially didn't load I thought It was totaly blocked...my apologies to the board.

- 4X4DodgerExplorer IIThis particular forum was one of the driving reasons I joined RV.NET. As many of you may have read I have been a vocal critic of the way this forum is moderated. It is simply killing it.
I just mentioned the moderation policy to Marcus who was responding to a post in another forum and I have sent a complaint to the President of GSC Mr. Siemens.
There is absolutely NO logical, supportable, factual argument that can be made by the Moderator or the Admin for this dead end policy. It comes down to one thing only.
The Moderator wants it this way.
The fact that the policy is bad for the advertisers is completely lost on the moderator. The fact that the policy is exclusionary and not in the best interests of the majority of users is lost on the moderator.
The fact that this forum is moderated DIFFERENTLY than virtually any other forum on this site seems to be lost on the Moderator.
Other RV and Workamping sites actually ENCOURAGE discussion about job postings and welcome comments both Positive and Negative.
There are too many employers out there who skirt the law and take advantage of (especially) temporary and seasonal workers. There are some employers who just blatantly scam people. Gladly they are in the minority but we as potential workampers DESERVE the ability to hear BOTH sides, the good and the bad about employers and the jobs they are advertising.
The good and honest EMPLOYERS deserve to have an open forum so that those who have worked there can relate to others what a good job it was and how well the employer treated them.
All of this is denied to us as users and employers by this ill conceived policy of moderation.
It needs to be changed. - sh410ExplorerGive it up. We know you don't agree. Start your own forum

I never realized we had a real life Ceasar Chavez in our midst. I never realized that RV.Net needed a crusader for the rights of the oppressed. 100 years from now, history will be able to look back at the moderation of this website and see it as the watershed moment it is. The last gasp of the oppressive employer holding down the poor workamper. Perhaps you should set your sights a bit higher and appeal to the President to issue a modern day Emancipation Proclamation. President Obama, Set the Workamper Free!!!!!!
