- HannibalExplorerThe unusually long tongue and relatively short axle to rear door distance is probably the only thing keeping this one from ending badly. I told my bride she can put all she wants in our 32.5' TT as long as it's in front of the axles. Tows like a champ with no sway control needed.

Years ago my dad moved his boat back a few inches on it's trailer to reduce tongue weight. It was still tongue heavy but he could lift the tongue by hand to hitch up. Fine and dandy until we hit the interstate one day. Above 50-55mph it started to whip like there was no stopping in. We pulled off and moved the boat back forward and problem solved. - horton333ExplorerNow if only it had been a toy F350! ;-)

And I suppose, don't drive on a treadmill. :R
It also tells me never to use a Mustang to tow a trailer. - TBammerExplorerIt also tells me never to use a Mustang to tow a trailer.
- Campfire_TimeExplorerPhysics is physics. Doesn't matter if it's 20k lbs of truck and trailer or a toy car. Doesn't matter where the wheels are or where the weight is placed. The basic principles are accurate. Is this is exactly real world? Of course not. But it illustrates the basics and the importance of WD and proper loading. Every setup is unique so this is not a one size fits all demo.
What it's missing is the importance of getting weight back on front end of the tow vehicle. Restoring steering control is as important as having proper weight balance of the trailer. - 3oaksExplorer

I agree. And even though I have seen it before, other people have not and it still sparks new discussions about the importance of proper weight distribution. ;)
This is very much informative. while it is a drastic demonstration it still shows how improper loading can affect handling! - dodge_guyExplorer IIThis is very much informative. while it is a drastic demonstration it still shows how improper loading can affect handling!
- horton333ExplorerIt's actually a poor demonstration. The weight being moved all the way back results in a large moment which dominated far beyond the weight transfer. Maybe for someone putting a Harley on their bumper this is informational, and it may shock people into paying attention to weight distribution (which is important), but I don't cinsider this an informational demo even for one with toy cars.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWhen good information is provided there is NOTHING wrong with repeating it again and again and again
Lots of folks need good information.
All one can do is put it up and hope they will read, absorb and ponder it.
