Here in Texas, if an open container is behind the driver/passenger seat in a motorhome, taxi, limo, or hearse, it is legal. However, reading the California laws, it says that an open container (such as an unsealed bottle of vodka in the freezer) is illegal regardless of where it is located in a vehicle.Is this a major issue where opened bottles should get tossed, or is this more of "don't ask, don't tell"?I know this is a dumb question... but I'd rather feel dumb here, than feel dumb in front of a CHP officer or a judge.

Just what are you reading? You keep getting some really bad info. Right turns are allowed on a red. Must stop first and be safe to do so but is allowed. U-turns are allowed unless posted that it is not.

In MN they have the Move Over law. I've never hard of the Slow Down part though now that you mention it I'll do it here too. Doesn't sound like a bad idea and it may be a law I didn't hear about. I don't think the fine is $2000 dollars though.

Speaking of right on red after stop, in GA at least, you can turn left on red after stop IF you are in the far left lane of a one way street and turn onto another one way street that flows to your to left.

How times have changed.

Off topic a bit... but years ago when I lived in Louisiana... Not only could you have an open container... The driver could legally drink and drive. We actually had drive thru bars. One was called the Daquari Factory. They made specialty alcoholic drinks of all kinds... The booze version of todays Starbucks.
