I would like to add some closet and compartment lighting in my Schwintek slide. Problem is, you can't bring it in through the bottom like traditional slides do with a coil cord. The bottom of the slide isn't at the bottom of the RV, it basically slides into the wall like a big drawer and sits on top of the floor inside. So for those of you have have power in your Schwintek slide, how did they do it?(Sorry, don't want to use anything that has its own battery).Thanks,Scott

Mine was designed in with the camper. There's a heavy sliding cable that contains electric and water for the outdoor kitchen that's on the slide.It lives in its own cabinet space that has the bottom cut out so it can slide.You can see it in these pictures. It's the light gray portion:

Thanks for the post Ependydad - that's very helpful. My slide just sits in the middle of a wall and there's nothing around it to hide stuff in like that.Ity may be that it just can't be done in a more simple setup like I have.Scott

My TT's not at the house but I'm pretty sure electric comes in at the very end of the outside wall. It rides in channel that folds in the middle like a "V".

Interestingly, I've upgraded rigs and have a wardrobe slideout that is a Schwintek and DOES have electricity in it. I'll explore some later to figure out how they did it.

Can you hide in on the bottom of the slide? Or build a box on the edge of the slideout?

Interesting conundrum. The camper I'm looking at might have the same issue being a wardrobe slide.

Do you have any pics of the slide + surrounding area?

Nah, there's nothing there.
I was able to rob power in the other slide for a couple of compartment lights but this one has nothing.
